Questions, answered.

You have questions, we have answers. Here are the most frequently asked questions about the Eco Explorers Summer Camp.

Can't find your question on this page? Feel free to contact us.
When is arrival and dismissal?

Please drop off and pick up campers on time.

Morning drop-off is at 9:30am. If you arrive after 9:30am, please call the camp cell phone to find out our location. Children cannot be dropped off before 9:15am

Afternoon dismissal is 4:30pm. If you are running late, please call or text the camp number to let us know. If your child is to be picked up by a person other than you, the parent or guardian, the camp must have on file the “Permission to Dismiss Camper to Person Other Than Parent” form. It must be completely filled out (including the name of the person picking up your child) and signed.

Do you offer extended day?

Unfortunately we cannot offer early drop-off or late pick-up at this time.

Is lunch provided?

Campers must bring their own nutritious lunch every day. We do not have a refrigerator available, so please pack food that does not need refrigeration.

Allergies and food restrictions: You may pack any foods you wish in your child’s lunch — we do not restrict any specific foods. If your child has a food allergy that could be triggered by being in the presence of a specific food, please contact us so we can discuss how to best provide for your child.

How do I contact my child at camp?

For emergencies or urgent messages that must be received during the camp day: call the camp cell phone at 646-494-4847. We try to answer each call, but if you get the voicemail, please leave a message and we will check it as soon as possible. You can also send text messages to this number.

What about safety?

There is at least one educator per session with first aid and CPR certification, and we will have basic first aid supplies with us at all times in the park. If you have a specific concern regarding your child, please note this on your camper medical form.

What are the numbers and ages of campers?

There will be up to 12 campers per group, ages 8-13. Groups are co-ed, and have one lead educator with at least one assistant educator.

Where do I get a medical form to fill out?

Medical forms will be emailed after submitting your camper's registration. Please fill these out and send them back via email to info@ecologyconnection.org as soon as you are able.

What should campers bring each day to camp?
  • Closed toed shoes
  • Appropriate clothing that you don't mind getting dirty
  • Water bottle
  • Hat and/or sunscreen
  • Nutritious lunch
  • Rain gear when appropriate (we will be outside rain or shine with the exception of severe weather)
Are cells phones or other technological devices allowed?

Campers are allowed to bring cell phones to camp, but must keep them turned off during the program unless otherwise specified. We want our campers to connect with friends, themselves, and nature, and we would like to minimize obstacles that could get in the way of these things happening.

What is your refund policy?

We know things change. If they do, we request that you inform us of your cancellation as soon as possible  so we can give the opportunity to another child. We will provide refunds on the following schedule:
30 days or more: full refund less $20 administrative fee
10 days – 29 days: half refund
9 days or less: no refund
